Ecstatic Existence: Kaynouna – the UAE’s Most Unique Music, Art, and Culture Festival Returns to Dubai

26 October, 2022, Dubai: Kaynouna- the UAE’s most unique music, arts and culture festival, returns to Dubai this Saturday, 29 October 2022. The Secret Garden at the Jumeirah Creek Hotel will set the stage for the day-long event featuring an extraordinary blend of top-notch local, regional, and international organic and electronic music artists.

Rounding out the line-up of ethnic downtempo, afro-house, cosmic and melodic deep house, and dark disco DJ sets and music performances will be a range of workshops, art and dance performances and holistic health and wellness offerings. The festival starts at 1pm in the natural surroundings of the hotel’s Secret Garden with performances taking place across two stages, The Garden and Lakeside Stages, with activations and workshops spread across the festival grounds, all included within the ticket price.

Kaynouna, which translates to ‘existence’ in Arabic philosophy, started as a project amongst friends in 2017 and has grown to be the region’s most unique and highly anticipated festivals. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, organizers say that this year’s event has been curated to provide festivalgoers with a truly impactful experience.

“Kaynouna is more than a music festival; we strive to build an atmosphere that is inclusive, and mentally and spiritually stimulating, while also catering to the seasoned raver looking for diverse and powerful musical performances. The aim of Kaynouna is to give something back to our festival community. It is more than just a great day and night out in Dubai, it is a moment to connect with yourself,  loved ones and the wider community,” said Nawar Akawi, Kaynouna Co-founder.

Festival gates open at 1pm and everyone is welcome, including children and pets until 7pm, with the experience continuing until 3am for adults.

A Soulful Schedule 

While the music performances start from 2pm at the Garden Stage, Xtatic Groove will host the opening ceremony ecstatic dance and sound healing journey from 4 PM to 5:45 PM to help build a connection with others and with the dancer’s own emotions.

International headliners taking the Garden Stage from 6pm include Berlin-based DJ Britta Arnord;  fellow Berliner, electronic music artist Caleesi; Italian DJ duo Marvin & Guy; psychedelic and progressive rock and electronic music pair Pandhora; and Beirut native but UAE-based artist Off Kourse.

On the Lakeside Stage, a host of outstanding up-and-coming and local talent will perform from 2pm until late into the night. Opening with the beautiful sounds of the oud, Cajon, handpan, violin, and more, performances on this stage will slowly transition to ethnic-downtempo and afro house until late, and feature artists like Gazelle & Sachin (handpan & percussion),  Ashraf & Joli (Oud & Cajon), The Sunshine Mystics (Live band), as well as DJs Special K, Mazz, Mambolo, Doomaz.

Activations throughout the festival include a wood painting workshop, calligraphy & body painting, a tie-dye workshop hosted by Loud mood, FloArt, glitter and braiding stations as well as various forms of yoga. All activations are included within the ticket price for maximum value.
